Re: wwe out
I disagree that his gender nonconformity was a new element, I don't speak for everyone, but my issue came from the fact that it was a really interesting way to take Eridans character but it was handled so improperly, Eridan is a dramatic kid, he loves theatrics its who he is. What he isn't is a soc...

Re: wwe out
This was actually kind of disappointing for me. Eridan is one of my favorites, and most of the route was pretty out of character for him. I felt like he was used as a plot device for the writer to share their own personal feelings and didn't take Eridan's true nature into account very much. I think...

Re: wwe out
Eridan's route is just a really sad sight to see, it feels like he wasn't taken in a direction far enough so he had all these plot beats which made the route feel...directionless? I also feel like the gender rant thing was a tad too much personally, not that its out of character mind you since erida...

Re: The Vast Error Thread
To clarify, what makes Pozzol so legendary is that while other antagonists sit and wait and talk about their keikakus, Pozzol through every interaction we've seen from him has just DONE what he plans, its thoroughly entertaining and enjoyable to see a troll who just knows what they want, works to ac...

Glad to see that Pozzol remains the best Vast Error character ever since his first reveal. Good update.

Re: I hate the whole "canon discussion" the series has taken
Can I play just the first visual novel to get a feel for what you mean, or do I have to go further in? Yeah the first 3 visual novel routes (Fate/ Unlimited Blade Works and Heavens feel) give you that primary theme. Since theyre sequels but also not true sequels, other Fate/ side products expand up...

Re: I hate the whole "canon discussion" the series has taken
If you want a more powerful franchise that talks about what canon really means check out Fate/(start with Fate/Stay Night's visual novel). I feel like the writing is miles ahead of most visual novels currently and even more so further ahead than the homestuck ones. If you're interested in it check i...

The spoiler wasn't that big, I was expecting some wild tonal shift but what i got is just what I expected. Idk I don't think it was needed to be hyped up all that much.

Re: I'm afraid for HS^2
It's almost like the Homestuck community on Twitter and that was on Tumblr is full of a rancid mob mentality where if you don't agree with x y or z thing you get absolutely demolished. Really all I can say is just stop engaging and it will stop it's not rocket science, STOP TAKING THE BAIT IT'S NOT ...

Re: The Vast Error Thread
Because its fun!How did this thread go from meaningful criticism of Vast Error to an uproar about no codpiece to literal memes.
Can we get this train back on track I was enjoying my 2AM reading of the thread till it spiraled :(

Re: I hate the whole "canon discussion" the series has taken
That is basically saying that homestuck was a mistake as it was subverting shit since page 1. But to be fair by certain viewpoints that is a valid statement. I don't think you read everything he had to say completely. He said that its HOW you subvert the genre. Early homestuck subverted things exce...

Re: In Defense of the Homestuck Patreon
Usually when you're making a patreon your first impression shouldn't be that of "this is exactly like my taxes". seems like a PRETTY BIG NO-NO.

Re: In Defense of the Homestuck Patreon
So, they aren't full time jobs. Did I feel like the update was less than I wanted? Sure, but perspective is a thing. Like it or don't, but randos on the internet aren't entitled to be the backseat driver to the finances of folks who are, to most fans, near strangers. Yes, I am entitled because this...

Re: In Defense of the Homestuck Patreon
It seems pretty entitled to demand to know the exact salaries of everyone working on a project. Like this isn't a demand I see from other indie projects, and they did say where the money goes- into the pockets of the people making all this happen. Yes, because indie projects clearly state what thei...

Still haven't actually talked about how much each team member is making and what else they'll do to entice people to pledge rather than your name on a website and bi monthly updates lol

Re: In Defense of the Homestuck Patreon
If the team hasn't cracked 2000 yet that should be a clue that there are less than 2000 people willing to give them monthly money and that this is a useless endeavour for their talents. They can keep going but they really shouldn't expect much, if anything if this is the plateau number.

Re: The Vast Error Thread
One way I think homestuck struggles with is it's villains, Eridan, Caliborn and Gamzee are all entertaining villains which make you feel really good to root against. But the thing is they never get a satisfying comeuppance when its their due time to get their comeuppance, they either get off way too...

Re: The Vast Error Thread
But VE is the yang to HS's yin in the sense that it is drama over comedy juxtaposed against a series that was always comedy over drama. Personal versus impersonal. The "anti-Homestuck" as some have dubbed it. That's a good way of putting it I feel. I also feel like most of my doubts have been put a...
