okay so the kernel sprite prefers dead or doomed things, so I'd prototype my collection of dead junebugs just to see what happens

I don't have any dead animals laying around for my preferred phase one, so I'd probably like, yeet in a copy of MGS or somethin

The ultimate winning play is to prototype something cool like i dunno a Nyan cat plush pre-entry then kill and then throw my dream self in the sprite post-entry. All I have to do then is kill myself on my quest bed and then I'll be the magical poptart cat of my dreams.

i don't have dead things so i'd probably put in my chess set. That way my entire game would be chess themed and I would castle myself away on derse and never kill anyone ever

If I could find a toad in my yard that would be cool, and maybe the black queen won't want to wear the ring if derse has the same disdain for toads as for frogs? if not, I'd throw in my plush stingray.

Maybe I'd hunt down my old stegosaurus toy. You know, the big plastic dinos with wrinkly skin texture. Not those weaksauce tiny with bright solid color things, a REAL dinosaur toy.

Alright even the tiny dinos are fun to play with. But fighting dino minions? That'd be sick.

I have a D6. I chuck it into the sprite. Now every enemy has a 1/6 in chance to eviscerate me, or a 1/6 chance to do jack shit.

I have a statue of a clown.... hmmmmmmmm...

I literally have a figure of omnimon, a model kit.

personally I'd prototype it with one of my Father John Misty CDs so that way I can both have a poetic, sad, hipster dude navigating me through my journey but I also have the opportunity to punch his stupid little bearded face over and over

Probably my Digimon V-Pet after I alchemize the shit out of it.

Otherwise, a deck of yugioh cards or a spare laptop.

Before entry i'd toss in either one of my many tiny wizard figures or maybe one of my stuffed animals.

After entry i'd toss in maybe my dog or something more dangerous like my dinosaur puppet that i don't want all the imps to be prototyped with, you know?
