Yiffy the Mary Sue?
All comes from this guy's thoughts.
Basically Yiffy might be a mary sue which would be a powerful character in a realm of fiction by this logic. Has the traits of one.
Apparrently Jade was described as a mary sue by Hussie which.... kinda works. She often had more answers than everyone else and ended up with the best powers, but ended up sidelined most of it, probably because she had the best powers. Course inspite of her competence she had her shortfalls psychologically and limitations to her skillset.
Actually if jade is meant to be a Mary sue type then it would explain why she kept on ending up controlled or asleep. She is smart and had the green sun's strength to help her out.
The problem of making a mary sue themed character is that.... Well they are almost always bad characters. I guess in Yiffy's case she was already captured. But if she just solves everything before her then it would lead to her being a boring as fuck character and we would all hate the story for her presence.
Basically Ray from from starwars sequels. Her opness is one of the major detriments of the movies.
Course this IS homestuck and deconstruction is the key. If yiffy is this then she will likely still be a character. Hell maybe she rebels against her marysueness in time.....
She kinda already has a head start in that she has the genes of First guardians in her just like jade.

Yeah it makes sense. The connection to Jade strengthens the mary sue theory a lot.

Als;o it seems like a lot of characters have mary sue esque traits, lord english being the most pure mary sue of them all.
Mary sue could almost be considered a power state in homsetuck.

That is kinda the thing. Originally vriska was not truly a mary sue. Cause she kept on self destructing. She was competent but even better at handicapping herself.
AFter retpunch she became more competent and started pulling out better parts of her nature, was no longer being handicapped.
Both dirk and jade are competent and in terms of palying the game, were never handicapped by their shortcomings. Especailly with jade, she was handicapped by the narrative.

Re: Yiffy the Mary Sue?
It should be expected that Yiffy (Pippi, Tiffy, Ann, ect???) is going to raise hell regardless because she's jade harelys child, but the concept of her being a mary sue is so fucking funny, but do we really even know if she has any powers to begin with to get that sort of head start, because isn't the green sun still dead at this point in time?
HC: There are twelve main classes Muse, Seer, Knight, Witch, Rogue, Heir, Page, Thief, Mage, Prince, Bard, Maid, and Lord---

Technically speaking the green sun is inside of the black hole. Gobbled up tis power. Its why Calliope is so goddamn strong.harmoniousCalamity wrote: ↑Sat May 02, 2020 11:38 pmIt should be expected that Yiffy (Pippi, Tiffy, Ann, ect???) is going to raise hell regardless because she's jade harelys child, but the concept of her being a mary sue is so fucking funny, but do we really even know if she has any powers to begin with to get that sort of head start, because isn't the green sun still dead at this point in time?
But yea she likely wouldn't have any specific powers herself. Then again most of the cast started out just like that. She is probably competent in a lot of things but she probably hasn't unlocked her aspect nor class powers. No more than vrissy, tavros, and harry. If they ended up being players they need to god tier and all that jazz.....
I recently realized that there is something of a naming convention. most of these characters have a name ending in y or it becomes that way. Tavy is a plausible alteration. or its possilbe he is not i nfact involved here.
The problem is there is yet another character with their name ending in y and it super confuses me.
