THE TAPESTRY: updates and discussion
the tapestry is a mspfa i've been working on for just over two years now. it's technically set in the homestuck universe, but the game its alien protagonists play is substantially mechanically different from sburb. there's also a pretty heavy focus on worldbuilding out the planet the protagonists hail from, and there's some sci-fi stuff sprinkled in as well.
also i'm told the art is pretty good.

Oh hey! I discovered your fanventure through its plug in Karkat Goes to a Convention, and I must say I'm really enjoying it so far! I haven't made it all the way to the most recent update yet (I'm at the part where Sosav confronts the two agents in the rubble) but the art is beautiful and the worldbuilding is very, very engaging. I'm also a big fan of the characters and their genuine friendship between each other as a collection of goofy and unique loners who connect together through the internet. You're a good egg!

I started reading it yesterday and Im loving it! thank you so much
Re: THE TAPESTRY: updates and discussion
This is my one of my favorite fanventures currently. The worldbuilding being the best part of a fanventure is *so rare*, and the characters all have strong recognizable personalities, without introducing too many new ones. Cool solvable mysteries and twists, in true Homestuck style. This adventure knows what it wants to be, and it rules at executing it! I'm not caught up currently (IIRC updates slowed down a bit right after I did, and I also got really busy) but I really need to pick it back up soon.
I can't recommend it enough, if you just randomly check this thread and want to know if it's worth it, it is.

I've been loosely keeping up with this one for a short while now and even with all the recommendations I've gotten I was seriously surprised at the quality of everything, from the art to the worldbuilding and characters. Great work dude!

Re: THE TAPESTRY: updates and discussion
thanks so much guys, i appreciate it!
the update rate has definitely slowed down a bit these past few months, but i can assure you its not cause i'm losing interest or anything. i've just had a lot of college work this semester, and that should be all cleared up fairly soon. this winter i'm planning on ramping back up again.

Boy do I understand having too much on your plate related to college courses, I don't blame you at all for slowing down a bit!
Re: THE TAPESTRY: updates and discussion
I sat down and read the whole thing over the course of two night shifts and man this is GREAT. The worldbuilding is phenomenal, Siltsphere and its accompanying planets and moons in its solar system are all incredibly fleshed out, as is the working of the world in a geo-political sense. The alien species is quite unique, they have a distinct alien feel with a mostly human-feeling society so it doesn't isolate the reader TOO much but gives them just enough to hang on to some ground of vague familiarity. The religious system that one of the main characters believes in is MEGA fascinating too. There's so much work poured into this and it oozes with charm.
Also BIG damn props for working with a 3D program for art assets, haven't seen that before in a fanventure!
Bluh I could gush about a bunch of stuff about The Tapestry but I feel like I'd be spoiling people here if I did. It's good to hop in fresh and knuckle down like I did for maximum enjoyment. The art is wonderful, the characters are fun, and the mysteries that stack up have me firmly planted in my seat to learn more! Can't wait to see more, too!
