What was your primary fandom pre-homestuck?

I was really into the Mother series, specifically Mother 3, still am, actually. I got into Homestuck through Toby's music.

i think it was megaman? before all my friends at the time on skype were reading homestuck in late 2015-early 2016 and i decided "fuck it, why not" and read it. needless to say if i didn't like homestuck, i wouldn't be here, nor would i run a fairly sizeable homestuck discord server between june 2017 and june 2019

I dipped into the community for "Your Turn to Die" for a small while but it's not hugely notable.

Before that, I'd only really delved into a fandom beside Homestuck with Undertale

Homestuck was the first fandom that I really got deeply involved in, but I guess I could say that my primary fandom before then was Adventure Time.

Come to think of it, Adventure Time first aired like two months before the introduction of the trolls, well after Homestuck's initial start date.

Apparently I get into a new fandom every 10 years or so.

-In high school, around 1996-2000 (lol I'm old), I was really into the Star Fox fandom. It peaked with the N64 game and got way less active after about 1999. I was big into making fan art and fanfic of an embarrassingly high quantity and not-great quality.

-In 2008 I was hardcore into the Doom modding fandom, specifically using the ZDoom/GZDoom source ports. I actually made the Cold As Hell mod for GZDoom which was fairly extensive and reasonably well received (the, uh, bug-fixed version from 2008 - we don't talk about the 2004 version).

-And then this one. Yippee!

I was super into the Neverhood fandom!
Actually, I was introduced to it at around the exact same time as Homestuck, but I never picked up Homestuck until a year or two later. So, yep! Neverhood!

Before THAT, it was Neopets and NiGHTS

I went from MLP:FiM around when season 3 started into the furry fandom I guess, and then got roped into Homestuck.

I mostly ended up bouncing between games every few years. The last old blooded fandom fandom I remember getting involved in was like... MLP FiM? That was in like 2012, though, so it's mostly fallen by the wayside.

After that it was Dark Souls. Tons and tons of Dark Souls. 2 is still the best, I will fight you on this.

immediately before i got into homestuck i'd gotten into undertale, but that was only a couple weeks after undertale came out so there wasnt yet that much of a fandom

before that though my primary 'fandom' was the creator community of Spore, which was virtually the only video game i played between june 2008 and when i started the tapestry in summer 2017. i was like, a moderately popular creator on the sporepedia for a while. i keep planning on getting back into spore but i haven't gotten around to it
